From Sunlight to Sweater Weather: Jewelry That Transitions with You
The reminisce of the summer heat bleeding into crisp September evenings calls for more than swapping linen for layers. The transition in seasons is about rethinking how you wear the jewelry you already love. At Sarah Elise, we don’t design “seasonal jewelry”. We design forever pieces– solid gold, colorful stones, and craftsmanship that feels as at home with a breezy summer dress as it does layered over cashmere.
Here’s how we make the transition into fall with intention (and sparkle).
Layering That Evolves with the Season
Summer layering is all about lighter, easy chains against sun-kissed skin. Come fall, those same chains gain new depth when stacked over turtlenecks and under collared shirts. Our paperclip chain and tennis necklace are essentials here and can stand out against the thick sweaters finally making their way out of the back of the closet once more.

Rings That Tell A Story
Your Jewelry doesn’t have to scream seasonal to make sense. A diamond band ring or plain gold band feels breezy with summer’s styling but becomes quite the anchor when paired with richer textures like knits and suedes. Add a richly colored gemstone or bolder signet ring, and your stack instantly feels personal– seasonless, yet never boring.

Falls Unexpected Hero: Bracelets
Summer bracelets tend to be delicate and stackable but in the colder months of fall, weight matters. Our solid gold bangles don’t get lost under sleeves– they peek out just enough to add intention without the fuss. It’s quiet luxury at its best.

What’s in Right Now (SEJ Edit)
-
Sapphire reimagined: Shades of blue… into shades of anything! We carry all colors of sapphire to not only highlight September’s official birthstone, but also the changing colors of fall foliage.

Yellow gold dominance: Rose and silver have their moments, but this fall, warm yellow gold is pairing perfectly with the deeper and earthy palettes we see arising.

-
Everyday luxuries: Accessorizers are trading in disposable “fast jewelry” for a capsule collection of fewer, better things– solid gold that doesn’t tarnish, chains that don’t snap, and clasps that don’t quit because jewelry should experience with you… not be gone with summer’s wind.

Caring for Jewelry Through the Shift
Fall is cozy but cozy can be rough on jewelry. To keep your precious pieces pristine:
-
Check your clasps and prongs before and after slipping on a scarf or putting on a thicker sweater. Naturally, threads and knits can get caught on the little ends of jewelry such as prongs or lobster claw clasps and wear down the piece of jewelry or even clothing.
-
Wipe down pearls and natural stones to rid them of the perfumes and heavier lotions that we tend to use in the frosty weather
-
Rotate intentionally as you dip in and out of the warmth of indoors and the cold of outside. Our fingers tend to swell or shrink in the drastic change of temperature so it’s always good to rotate rings and bracelets that tend to be more flush to our skin.
Why Transitional Jewelry Matters
Because real life doesn’t pause between seasons. The Jewelry you invest in should look just as effortless on a rooftop in August as it does at a November wedding. That’s the standard we set at Sarah Elise Jewelry: solid gold, natural stones, justified luxury– pieces that last, style that evolves.
